On this day trip, departing from Trabzon, you’ll discover the historical and natural beauty of the Black Sea region. Our first stop is the Sümela Monastery in Altındere National Park. After a short ride, we hike 350 meters through a forested path to reach this breathtaking site.

At the monastery, you’ll be greeted by Roman-era aqueducts, stone staircases, and medieval structures, including the rock church. You can explore the student rooms, chapels, and other sections while delving into the rich history of this ancient place.

Next, we head to Zigana Mountain, where nature and history converge. The Zigana Pass, an important route on the historic Silk Road, sits at an altitude of 2,050 meters, offering magnificent mountain views. Enjoy the scenic beauty and a brief photo stop before continuing to Karaca Cave, a natural wonder filled with stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and travertines.

Our final stop is Hamsiköy, a picturesque Black Sea village famous for its lush surroundings and its renowned rice pudding. Here, we’ll take a lunch break and you’ll have the chance to taste the region’s famous pudding. After a relaxing time in the village, we’ll head back to Trabzon.

Before the Activity: Our tour departs from the meeting point in Trabzon city center at 9:00 AM. Hotel pickups are arranged according to the operational schedule and may occur before or after the tour's departure time. Our operations team will inform you about your exact pickup time from your hotel prior to the tour.

Additionally, you are required to fill out the Participant Information Form included in the reservation confirmation email.

Getting to Sumela Monastery: It is mandatory to use the shuttle service to reach the national park parking lot and the beginning of the trail to the monastery. There is a 350-meter forest trail leading to the monastery, which is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. Additionally, during the visit to the monastery, you will need to navigate many steps.

Lunch: Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant in Zigana or Hamsiköy.
