The Sumela Monastery, Zigana Pass, and Hamsiköy Private Day Tour offers you a flexible and personalized experience. Starting from Trabzon, you will be picked up from your hotel or a designated location of your choice. Our first stop is Sumela Monastery, located within Altındere National Park. After an hour-long drive, we reach the park and take shuttle buses up to the monastery area. From there, a 350-meter walk through a forested path leads us to the breathtaking Sumela Monastery. You can either take a short break at the nearby café or proceed directly to explore the monastery.
Inside the monastery, you will discover its historic structures, including the guard rooms, library, guest and student rooms, rock church, and chapels. After your visit to this ancient site, we return to our vehicle and head towards the second stop: the Zigana Pass. Here, you can enjoy the stunning mountain views while tracing the historical footsteps along the Silk Road. We recommend having lunch at a local restaurant in Zigana before continuing our journey.
Next, we head to the famous Karaca Cave, a natural wonder filled with stalactites, stalagmites, and travertines, creating a mesmerizing underground gallery. After exploring the cave, we make a short stop at a local factory outlet where you can purchase traditional Black Sea delicacies like pestil and köme.
Our journey continues to the Torul Glass Terrace, where you can experience an adrenaline-filled moment while enjoying breathtaking views of the Black Sea region from above.
The final stop of the day is Hamsiköy, a charming village known for its stunning natural scenery and its famous rice pudding. Here, you can relax and savor the local delicacy while soaking in the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. Our tour starts and ends in Trabzon city center or at your hotel in the city. Depending on your preference, you can also start your tour from Trabzon Airport. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Trabzon city center or at Trabzon Airport. Alternatively, if your tour starts at the airport, it can end at your hotel. Your guide will assist you with these arrangements.
Before the departure time, our local agency will contact you and, if applicable, request your flight details. Additionally, you will need to fill out the Participant Information Form included in the reservation confirmation email.
