Full description

Your private tour begins with a comfortable pick-up from your hotel in Rize Center. As you travel through the breathtaking landscapes of the Black Sea, we arrive at Altındere National Park, home to the world-renowned Sumela Monastery. Upon arriving at the park, you will take shuttle vehicles to get closer to the monastery. Before reaching Sumela Monastery, we stop at the St. Barbara Chapel (Aya Varvara Church), where you can enjoy stunning views of the monastery and its surroundings. After a short break, we continue along a 350-meter forest path to reach the cliffside Sumela Monastery. Upon arrival, you are greeted by historic aqueducts, stone stairways, and social areas for visitors. Before entering, take a moment to admire the surrounding nature and breathtaking views.

After climbing the stone stairs to the entrance, the full beauty of the monastic complex unfolds before you, including the rock church, chapels, student rooms, library, guesthouse, and sacred spring. After exploring Sumela, we head to Trabzon for the Trabzon City Tour. Our first stop is the 13th-century Hagia Sophia Mosque, where you can admire the original Byzantine frescoes. Next, we visit the Atatürk Mansion, one of the finest examples of Trabzon’s civil architecture. This historical mansion, where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed during his visits to Trabzon, offers an atmosphere rich in history, surrounded by beautiful gardens.

The city tour continues through Ortahisar, where we visit Trabzon Castle, Gülbahar Hatun Mosque, Zağnos Bridge, Kanuni’s House, and Fatih Mosque. After this enriching historical journey, we head to Boztepe, a hill offering panoramic views of Trabzon and the Black Sea. At Boztepe, you can take in the breathtaking scenery and capture beautiful photos. For lunch, you can stop at Altındere National Park or Trabzon city center, depending on your preference and your guide’s recommendations.
